Joy Is Part of Healing

Somewhere along the way, many of us learned that joy must be earned.

We’ll rest when everything is finished.
We’ll celebrate after we’ve accomplished enough.
We’ll enjoy life someday.

But healing doesn’t happen only through hard work. It also happens through laughter, creativity, connection, and moments of simple delight.

Joy helps regulate the nervous system. It broadens perspective. It reminds us that wellness isn’t only about reducing symptoms—it’s about creating a life we genuinely enjoy living.

Joy doesn’t have to be extraordinary.

It can be sitting in the sunshine.
Walking barefoot in the grass.
Listening to your favorite music.
Watching birds from your window.

Small moments accumulate.

This week, give yourself permission to intentionally seek joy—not because you’ve earned it, but because your well-being deserves it.
